The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following ing advice from its London office under dace July lt>:— Tne July series of wool sales have closed firm for all descripcions of wool and with values at the hignest point.

Quotations lor wool ot average condition:—Merinos: Super, 60/64's, i!ld to 'zl£d per 1b; ordinary, 60/64's, 17id to 18£ d; inferior, 6U/64's, 14d to 15d. Haltoreas: ob/bbs, iSgd to iiJid; I J's, itid to 18id; 50/56's, 17£ dto 18d. Crossbreds: oU's, 17id to 13d; 48/50's, 17d to 17id; 46/48's, 16id to 17£ d; 44/46's, 16Jd to 17£ d; 40/44's, 164 dto T7d; 36/40's, 16£ d to 17d.

Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and ' Williams, Ltd., report having received ' cable advice from their London house regarding the London wool sales reading as follows: —The sales closed before an average attendance of buyers, among whom competition was good. Continental and Bradford buyers were the chief operators. A total of 71,000 bales were offered, and of these 62,000 were sold. An average selection of wool was offered.

We quote 'the following average realisations:—Greasy Merino, 60/64, yielding 43 per cent., 18Jd; greasy fine halfbred, • 56/58, 62 , per cent, .18d; greasy halfbred,, 50/56, 68 per cent., 17id; greasy three-quarter bred,. 48/50, 74 per cent., 17d; greasy fine crossbred, 46/48, 75 per cent., 16Jd; greasy medium crossbred, 44/46, 75 per cent., 16id; greasy crossbred, 40/44, 76 per cent., 16Jd; greasy coarse crossbred, 36/40, 76 per cent., 16d. Scoured wool and Australian- Merinos advanced 5 per cent,, while sliped prices were from 2| per cent, to 5 per cent, higher. Murray, Roberts, and Co., Ltd., are in receipt of the following wool market cablegram' from their London agents, dated July 16:—Sales have closed brisk, competition keen. Bradford buyers operating keenly; Continental buyers operating more freely. Compared with last London sale's closing rates,, greasy merino market shows no material change; scoured merino best market firm; scoured merino, other descriptions, market irregular; crossbred greasy market shows no- change; crossbred scoured market shows.no change; slipe" crossbred; par to 5 per cent, decline.

.. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated July 16:—The auctions closed here today at their best point, buyers generally operating freely. Total quantity offered, 71.042 bales, sold 62.000* bales. Carried forward,"'22,ooo bales, including 16.000 bales from New Zealand. Compared with the opening rates, we quote—Greasy merino, best Jd, per lb .higher, average '4d higher; fine halfbreds, 50/56's, unchanged; extra fine crossbreds, 48/50's, fd pet lb higher; fine crossbreds. 46/43's; id; medium, 44/46's, id; coarse, 40/44's, id; low, 46/40's, £d; slipe wools generally, id, all higher; - , , The Bank of New South Wales has received- the following cable message from its London office, dated July 16:—London wool sales closed today at best points of series, with home •' and Continental buyers in spirited competition. Prices for both greasy merinos and crossbreds now about id per lb above opening rates. Average or estimated prices of New Zealand greasy fleece, ordinary topmaking wools:—Merino, 60/64, Is 6Jd; fine halfbred, 56/53, Is 6d; halfbred, 50/56, Is 5Jd; three-quarter bred, 48/50, Is sd; fine, crossbred, 46/43, .Is 4J-d; medium-crossbred, 44/46, ls.4id; crossbred, 40/44,. ; .1s 4Jd.
