NEW TRIAL ORDERED

BLENHEIM. This Day.

After a retirement of over four hours the jury disagreed and the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) ordered a new trial of Leonard Alma Turner, a stock dealer, of Pelorus Valley, on a charge of theft of three head of cattle. Although offered a new trial during the Nelson sessions next week, the accused elected to wait four,months until the next Blenheim sessions. Bail was allowed in the sum of £100, with a surety of £100.
