AGREEMENT REACHED
| NURSERYMEN'S DISPUTE i A 48-hour week is to be worked by inurserymen in the Wellington industrial district under an agreement which iwas reached in proceedings before Mr. iS. Ritchie, Conciliation Commissioner, syesterday afternoon. Mr. P. M. Butler j acted as advocate for the applicant {workers, and Mr. W. J. Mountjoy was ■^advocate for the employers, j : Wage rates were agreed to as fol- : lows:—Casual workers, 2s 4d per hour; igardener or nurseryman, £4 16s per ?week; foreman, £4 18s 6d; females, fourth, year, £2; thereafter £2 10s; 1 youths, fourth year, £2 ss, thereafter ■£2 15s. Statutory holidays are to be paid :for, and one week's annual holiday on (pay will be granted. . ' i The award will come into operation [on July 1, and continue in force until [December 21, when the nurserymen's Fgardeners' award will also be revised.
