The Wellington .Central Branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union met in the Y.W.CA., when the president (Mrs. Israel) presided.-' Mrs." Harry gave the "temperance fact" for the Coronation—"That 150,000 cartons of milk were on sale at the refreshment marquees in the 'London parks on Coronation Day. In addition a large marquee near the Marble Arch was fitted up as a milk bar. Girls were there to sell 5000 drinks during the day, including milk shakes and milk soup. The bar remained open from early morning till midnight for nine days, and was open the whole of two nights. No intoxicants were sold at any of the marquees. The 48,000 children who saw the procession on Constitution Hill and Victoria Embankment were also supplied- with milk, the gift of the Milk Marketing Board."
Members who agreed to visit at the hospital during the union's fortnight were Mesdames Weldon, Andrew, Israel, Davidson, Cullen, James, and Erhpson. Mrs. Barrow read-the article "Pray As You Go," concerning the busy mother who found life happy because she looked for the*" things to praise God for. t
The Scripture Union's daily Bible reading magazine for boys and girls was recommended to members.
Mrs. Hould and Mrs. Andrew served afternoon tea.
