SUNSPOT ACTIVITY

Observations of the sun, made by the Dominion Observatory today, show considerable sunspot activity. The spot groups reported last week are now in a more central position on the sun's disk. One of these groups, in. the Southern Hemisphere, is of remarkable length. It extends over the solar surface for a distance of about 240,000 miles, the distance of the moon from the earth. The middle part of this group is just past the sun's central meridian. Other active spot groups are also visible in the sun's eastern hemisphere.
