A WEEK TOO LATE
As her prospective bridegroom arrived too late on his wedding day, a native girl of Berberton, South Africa, married another man. All the preparations for the?: ceremony were ready and the bride was waiting in her full bridal array. But the bridegroom did not appear. When the day was nearly over, and he had still failed to arrive, an old suitor stepped forward, and asked if she would marry him instead. She said "Yes," and the ceremony was performed on the spot. The bridegroom arrived a week later. He had mistaken the date.
