■ Surprising news comes ' front Madrid. General Miaja has ordered the immediate evacuation of the civil population in three batches, firstly persons from provinces which are occupied 'by insurgents, secondly those from thd Province of Madrid, and thirdly those from the suburbs;
This action can be explained at present only by the news that an insurgent airman today dropped a long proclamation on the , Guadar* rama front giving a warning that • last assault on the capital was imminent. "The capture of Malaga was the work of a few days, and that of Madrid'will be the same," it stated.
