LECTURE TOUR IN U.S.

REV. ANDERSON JARDINE

(Received June 15, 2 p.m.)

LONDON, June 14.

The. "Daily Mail" says that the Rev. Anderson Jardine, who performed the religious ceremony at the Duke of Windsor's wedding and who is resigning from his living, is to go to America, accompanied by his wife, on a lecture tour at the end of the month. He emphasises that he does not intend to discuss the Duke's marriage, but simply to travel from city to city lecturing on religious subjects. He does not want to leave the Church of England, but would like to go to a parish in the south- of England. "The only letter I have received from the Duke of Windsor," he said, "is a personal one, and it has nothing to do with my future. My wife is pleased at the prospect of escaping from gossiping tongues in Darlington. I myself have long felt that a younger vicar js needed in the parish. I intended to resign in any case this year."
