COUNTY CHAIRMAN FOR 20 YEARS

(Special to the "Evening Fost.")

WANGANUI, June 14.

Mr. W. Morrison, of Maxwell, was elected chairman of the Waitotara County Council today for his twentieth term of office. During the whole of that time Mr. Morrison has only missed one meeting, which is probably a record for New Zealand. In addition to holding the office of chairman for 20 years, he has been a member of the council for 32 years continuously, which is perhaps also a record for a county member. Mr. Morrison is a member of the Main Highways Board, and of the Counties' Association, and was for the past two years chairman of the Wanganui Harbour_ Board.
