VIRTUE OF CHARITY

NO CRITICISM OF DUKE

FORMER SUBJECTS'; THOUGHTS

LONDON, June 3. : The "News Chronicle," in a leading article, says:—

"It is no disrespect to their Majesties to say that the thoughts of millions of the former subjects of Edward VIII will today turn to the-music-room at the chateau, where the man who was King will bring to its culmination the romance which cost him the Throne.

. "Accompanying their thoughts will go affectionate remembrance .and the best of good wishes. Edward judged it expedient to surrender the privileges and burdens of the Monarchy for the sake of the woman he loved, and whom the State would not accept. Today criticism should be silent. May those who would still persecute him Jiearn soon the virtue of charity." .''*".>
