A LIGHTING PROBLEM

The international Association match, England v. Wanganui-Taranaki, is to be played in Cook's Gardens. . There was an animated discussion in the City Council before this decision was arrived at, as it meant that the whole of thn overhead. lighting would have to be taken down It was pointed out that the work involved was costly. The Mayor said he hoped that some scheme of permanent flood-lighting Of the Garden? would be devised before it became necessary to reinstate the present lighting system.
