HOLING OUT ORGY
A SELF-EFFACING CLUB
Last weekend was a quiet one as far as ii«?erclub events went, but these only give the leading players of each club a game, though they arouse general interest, and the great bulk of golfers .always have their club competitions which give each man a chance of his; place ultimately' on the team ladder.'1 .The week saw a"most-unusual occurrence, the scoring of two holes in one in the same match. This was the secretary's and the captain's teams matcnes amongst Mornington members, L. Southward and C. B. Eyersleigh were' the culprits, the former during the jtour-ball game holing his tee shot at Crooked Creek (138 yards), and Kversleigh, who did a hole in one last December at Crooked Creek, scored his second ace in the afternoon. at "The Lawni" 183 yards. Holes in one are becoming increasingly frequent, and, in view of the number of players every weekend, occasion nothing like the"surpriSe they ,once did, but it is most unusual for two to occur on the same course during the same day, and during the course of the same match. Honouring such obligations is apt to be an onerous proposition. : '
