STRIPED WASHING SILKS
Striped washing-silk articles, particularly silk scarves, frequently lose their crisp freshness when they are washed and become shiny in patches after ironings..-They:should;be^squeezed in soapy ,;\vater ".until" clean and never rubbed with a" piece 'of, soap. Additionally, they should be pressed under a soft-cloth and the "iron never used directly on the silk. Always soak new striped silk articles incold water for several hours before washing. A rinse in water containing a tablespoonful of vinegar will keep the colours in Striped silks bright and prevent them from running when washed.
