ANOTHER STALLION

BEAU PERE^ HALF-BROTHER

Another representative ox the St. Simon line arrived in New Zealand last week by the Westmoreland. This was the four-year-old horse Dink, who is to join Vaals and Bronze Eagle at the Mardella Stud, Otahuhu. Dink is a dark bay horse, standing just under 16 hands. He is by Nothing Venture trorn Cinna. thud a halfbrother to Gay Ghield and Beau Pere. The success of Gay Shield during his short career in the Dominion, and* the fact that the first of the progeny of Beau Pere sold so well at the last January sales will ensure keen interest in Dink. The newcomer has not raced, but the performances of his family are excellent. Nothing Venture won 14 races, worth £8381, and in four seasons his stock won 67 flat races to the value of £ 14.934. Cinna. Dink's dam, was

victorious in the One Thousand Guineas at Newmarket and the Coronation Stakes at Ascot, and was beaten a neck in the Oaks by Charlebelle. She won £8811', and is grand-daughter of La Fleche, the winner of £34,703. Both Nothing Venture and Cinna were raced by Sir John W. Buchanan-Jardine, who also has Obliterate, sire of the champion mare Quashed, at his stud at Newmarket.
