DESIRE FOR STRONGER FRIENDSHIP

This morning the King received in audience Prince Chichibu of Japan, who presented to his Majesty the collar of the Supreme Order of- the Chrysanthemum conferred upon him by the Emperor of Japan.
In making the presentation. Prince Chichibu said that the Emperor had charged i him to give an assurance of his ardent desire to maintain and further strengthen the traditional ties of amity between Japan and Great Britain. ;l
In his reply, the King said that this sentiment would find a ready echo in Britain, and that it would be his constant endeavour to maintain and develop friendly relations between the two countries in every way within his power.
Prince Chichibu also presented to the Queen the Order of the Precious Crown, first class. .
