WARRANTS OF FITNESS

(To the Editor.)

: Sir,—What a great opportunity: the Minister of Transport has missed, by not insisting, that a warrant of fitnessi must be produced to the licensing authority before renewal of a licence is granted. By. this means, a vehicle without a warrant could not legally be on the road after May 31, and it would have saved inspectors a considerable amount of time and trouble in checking vehicles on the road. It is true that in. less than' ■' six' months another warrant must be obtained, but this does not alter the fact that a splendid opportunity has been missed Of making certain that, all cars on the«road on June 1 have, been inspected and passed. At least, consideration might be given to-; the adoption of some such, procedure next year. —lam, etc., ; V. .- . WARRANT.
