ACADEMY EXHIBITION.
•Those who have not yet visited the autumn exhibition of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts at the National Art Gallery, Buckle Street, should not miss the opportunity of doing so this week as it will close on Saturday afternoon after the drawing of the public art union. Tickets for the art union may be obtained at the art gallery. The present exhibition is the first held by the New Zealand Academy in its new premises. Many visitors have expressed the opinion that the exhibition is of a very hig;i standard and all agree that the pictyres have never been displayed to better advantage. The space available has made it possible for the exhibits to be hung in a single line and the spectator can enjoy studying any picture without the annoyance of having his eye distracted, as is the case when the hanging is crowded. In addition to the day sessions, the exhibition will be open tonight from 7 to 9.30. A further sale made yesterday was the water colour "Tauranga Harbour," by Sydney Higgs.'
