REPERTORY THEATRE.
"Juno and the Paycock," Scan O'Casey's play which the Wellington Repertory Society is successfully presenting nightly at the Town Hall Concert Chamber, is an Irish tragedy, tinged with comedy, and has been adequately produced by Mr. Leo dv Chateau. The resujt has justified the society's brave "choice in attempting such a play, arid the Irish brogue which characterises the dialogue is admirably sustained. The characterisation as a whole is excellent; the producer's work in his portrayal of Captain Boyle is skilful and marked with an almost uncanny appreciation of Irish humour. Others in the cast are: —Mrs. G. C. Boyes who plays Juno 'Boyle; Ben O'Brien, as Johnny Boyle; Mrs. George Swan, as Mary Boyle; James Crawford, Mrs. Charles Anderson. C. Edgari Mrs. Sidney Tingey, A. sAshley-Jones\ and G. R. Powles. The stage appointments are appropriate to the people and the times.
Mr. dv Chateau has received from Dr. Walsh, writing from the Catholic Presbytery, Guildford Terrace, a high-ly-complimentary letter, in which he speaks of the pleasure he derived from the first night's performance. The season will conclude on Saturday. "
