NX CRICKETERS
BATSMEN OUT OF PRACTICE
MOLOtNEY EXCEPTION
(By the Special Correspondent of the
TJr/ited Press Association.). (Received May 19, 10 a.m.)
LONDON, May 13.
The i cricket match between Glamorgan and New Zealand resulted /in a win for the county team by six} wickets. New Zealand made 235 and 190 and Glamorgan!scored 338 and 90 for four .wickets. Glamorgan now have the unusual recoiid of having beaten New Zealand^ South Africa, India, and the West? Indies, and of having lost to Australia only once since the Great War,. There was an attendance of 3000 today. The, weather was fine ands the wicket in excellent condition. A striking illustration of the effect of [the lack of net and match practice caused by the rain last week in London vitas provided when' the New Zeal:anders, except Moloney and Tindill, ffell quick victims to off-spin, round-the-wicket bowling. Jones, who took litiree for 36 before lunch and three for 5 in the afternoon, maintained an /accurate length throughout. HOW THEY WENT OUT. ' Tindill, Vivian, and Dunning Were Jail caught at silly point, Moloney, and fWeir were bowled in trying big hits, and Lamason was beaten by pace off the pitch. Moloney played confidently in an attractive innings lasting two and a ' half hours. His effort, which featured fine driving and hooking, yielded seven 4's and two o's. He and Tindill added 78 runs for the fifth wicket in an hour and a quarter, the letter scoring slowly but soundly. - Lamason began promisingly, falling when he appeared to be settling down for a useful innings. I Steady bowling compelled the county to take over an hour and a half to score the runs required for a win. The enticing slows of Weir and Moloney were again effective and good catches were taken by Dunning and Kerr. .. . . . Details:—■ NEW ZEALAND. First Innings • • 235 Second Innings.
