TOWN HALL MEETING

All available space was occupied in the Town Hall Council Chamber yesterday afternoon when a meeting of women, convened by the Mayoress (Mrs. T. C. A. Hislop), was held in aid of: the King George V Memorial Fund. ,'■.':

The Mayor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop) said substantial progress had been made in various' parts ■of New Zealand, particularly in Auckland. Wellington had about £7000 in hand, and it was considered that by redoubled efforts that amount would be considerably exceeded. It was hoped that the women of the city would organise, and devise schemes for. the raising of money. '
