LORD DERBY'S JOCKEY

Originally apprenticed to F. Leader, Richard Perry man' this season will be the first jockey for Lord Derby, whose horses' are trained by C. Leader. Perryman -was sixth on the list of winning jockeys last season with 71 winners out of 474 mounts. The previous year he was third with' 87 wins, and in the year 1934 was. fourth, although he rode more winners, 90 to be exact. Perryman, who can now go to scale at Bst 41b, and so has to be reckoned among the heavyweights, won his first classic, the One Thousand Guineas, on Mr. A. de Rothschild's Pillion in 1926. Last season he again won this race on Lord Derby's Tideway. One of his greatest assets is exceptionally good hands, while he can ride a strong finish with little recourse to the whip.
