CONSENT TO JUDGMENT

Judgment was entered by the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) in the Supreme Court today for Robert Hansen, a waterside worker, of Lower Hutt, who succeeded on Tuesday afternoon against the Shaw Savill and Albion Co., Ltd., for £636 6s damages. Hansen was injured when a gangway collapsed on November 15, 1935, and he claimed £1014 12s, alleging negligence on the part of the company's servants. When the jury returned, Mr. F. W. Ongley moved for judgment for the plaintiff, but the matter was held over for consideration following applications by Mr. E. D. Blundell (for the defendant) : for a nonsuit or leave to apply for a new trial to be reserved. In the Supreme Court today Mr. Blundell said that he intended to consent to judgment being entered. ■ '
