(By Telegraph—.Press. Association.) CKRISTCHURCH, This Day, Christchurch was bathed in brilliant sunshine today as citizens joined ■ia expressing loyalty and affection to King George VI. Public buildings and business houses were gaily decorated, and the scene in Cathedral Square was one of colourful splendour as the,troops and bands marched to services in the Cathedral and King Edward Barracks. One of the highlights of th« day was the rejoicing,' as was the procession, which was symbolical of the growth and wealth of the province. Functions were also held in schools.
