An enormous crowd, infected with the holiday spirit, invaded the city last night to see the illuminations and decorations. The police .estimated that the crowd was twice as big as the ordinary Friday night shopping crowd. Over 3000 people took pftrt in a united intercessory service at the Town Hall ' The number of Coronation Medals distributed to Australians is about 6500. Medals have been awarded to officials and citizens who rendered valuable public service and to leaders in industry and the professions.
