CROWDS IN SYDNEY
HOLIDAY SPIRIT
(Received May 12, 12.50 pin.) SYDNEY, This Day. " Messages of loyalty have been sent to the King by the Governor-General on behalf of the Commonwealth and by the Premiers on behalf of the State Governments. An enormous crowd, infected with the holiday spirit, invaded the city last night to see the illuminations and decorations. The police .estimated that the crowd was twice as big as the ordinary Friday night shopping crowd. Over 3000 people took pftrt in a united intercessory service at the Town Hall ' The number of Coronation Medals distributed to Australians is about 6500. Medals have been awarded to officials and citizens who rendered valuable public service and to leaders in industry and the professions.
