Acceptances for the second day. of the Otaki Meeting are due at noon tomorrow. Acceptances for the second day of the Egmont Meeting are due at 9 o'clock tomorrow evening. The most contentious topic for discussion at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Racing Conference in July will be the minimum weight for flat races. Acording to a Te Aroha report, Va] Watch is standing up to her work, and it is expected that she will soon be racing again. Apparently Jonathan is to emerge from retirement. According to reports, he has joined W. J. McLean's stable at Matamata, and is to undergo a course of schooling with the object of racing him over obstacles. AH going well on the trip to Egmont, Bonnie Rollox will not return to Trentham but will continue on to Te Rapa, where he will conclude his preparation for Waikato and Auckland. A. Tudor will remain in charge of him. Master Norval continues to train on in* a satisfactory fashion, and he may prove that he is still capable of picking up some money, says an Auckland report. _ Buster Brown, novice winner at Hastings last Saturday, is an eight-year-old whoso only, previousl racing was three starts as a two-year-old. He is a bay gelding by Weathervano from the Rokeby-Stepka mare Zig, a half-sister to Rapier's dam Anitea and the dam previously of the D.J.C. McLean Stakes winner Scrip, and he is now being raced in partnership by the Hastings trainer L. D. Berry and Mr. J. Berrigan ort lease from Mr. A. Syjnes. Travelling Agent broke down badly during a schooling bout at Te Rapa on Saturday morning, and will require a spell. Riding engagements for the waipa Racing Club's Meeting at Te Awamutu on Saturday include:—J. Muir, Kinkle, Windsor Lad, Erination; N, Howard, Sergia; R. Glading, Happy Lass; J. Day, Killadar; V. Gollop, Gay Streak; J. McLaughlin, Diacquedoon. The Hawera report that Mr, W. K. S. Brewer's good hurdler Ruaform had been destroyed following injuries received when ho became frightened by a thunderstorm is incorrect. A later report states that, the gelding was badly frightened by the storm, but was not injured. Youssipof, who has not raced since New Year's Day, is doing well in his work at present at Trentham, and he will probably resume his public career in highweight class at Carterton next week. His preparation is being supervised by his owner, Sir Thomas Wilford.
