" As a grand finale to the'two weeks of capping celebrations, the Victoria College Students' Association • held in St. Francis Hall last evening one of the gayest and most successful capping' balls for many years; The whole night of dancing, from 9.30 p.m. to 2 a.m., went off with, a swing, the graduates . revelling in the joy of successlull studies,, and the undergraduates, who were present in large numbers, celebrating the completion of the most successful extravaganza they have staged in "Wellington .""
As is always the custom at University functions a "friendly atmosphere permeated the .ballroom and everyone joined with the. orchestra, singing the modern and old-time tunes, which were provided on the varied programme of dance numbers.
