PRESS ATTACKS
CATHOLIC CHURCH IN GERMANY
(Received April 30, 11.30 a.m.)
BERLIN, April. 29.
A concerted Press attack on the Catholic Church is interpreted to mean a renewal of the campaign against the Church. -
Inflammatory headlines, for example, the "Volkischer Beobachter's," "Churches and Monasteries Debased to Haunts of Depravity," introduce stories announcing that over a thousand priests or members of Catholic orders are in prison awaiting trial m charges of immorality.
The newspapers add that it is not' a question of individual cases, but that the whole system is corrupt.
