STUDENTS' HANDICAP

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—Writing as a father with sons at college I would i like to draw attention to the serious handicap imposed on a number of secondary school pupils in the Wellington district. By the closing of the schools and colleges, the pupils sitting for University ex^ animation will be at a disadvantage compared with candidates in other, districts.The Wellington': secondary school pupils have, already ... lost several weeks of personal tuition and another month, at least, will" elapse before normal work can be resumed. I respectfully wish to draw the' attention of the University authorities to the position with regard to Wellington candidates, with the hope that some allowance will be made for the unfortunate plight of the young people. I am, etc.; : , ;
