ADVISORY- BOARD MEETS
A number of matters of business and general interest were dealt with by the' Dominion- Advisory Board of ' the Women's Division of the , Farmers' Union, which met in Wellington yesterday, under the presidency of Mrs. C. K. Wilson (Pio Pio), who is, Dominion president. : The New Zealand Sheepowners' Acknowledgment of Debt to British Seamen Fund wrote notifying the women's .' division that the Government having taken over the management and control of Flock House, help would not be necessary as formerly for sons of New Zealand soldiers, though their help would still be* appreciated in regard to after-care of English boys sent to positions in-the country after training. Remits, subjects of debate, and general arrangements for conference wei-e discussed, and the social side of the conference was also considered at the meeting.
The question of the forming of provincial executives was brought forward by Mrs. A. B. Smith (Dominion secretary). Although 30 of these had been established in as many districts in other parts, Wellington lacked this coordinating link. A Dominion executive was discussed, and it was decided that each branch should send a representative to a meeting to be held in Wellington on May 17, when the project would be, further considered. Mrs. C. K. Wilson offered to visit outlying country districts with the object of forming new branches, and Mrs. W. B. Preshawagreed to act-as.organiser and [to accompany Mrs. Wilson.
Afternoon tea was served, and visiting representatives expressed their thanks to the board for advice given and hospitality extended.
