Mr. J. R. Butler, who was this week transferred to the Telegraph School, Christchurch, was the recipient of a token of good will from Mr. L. T. Boyes on behalf of his fellow-employees on the staff of the Lower Hutt Post Office. Mr. Butler's place at Lower Hutt is being taken by Mr. W. Watson of the accountants' branch1, of the" Post and Telegraph Department,' Wellington.

Mr. H. A. Millington, MX.A., Minister for Works and Water Suppliel in the Western Australian Government, arrived in New Zealand this week. Mr. Millington, who is accompanied by his wife, .will spend about' a fortnight in the Dominion. He left for the south, last night. ' : ;' ■ ': . . .; '

The death of Mr. J. K. Hornblow, chairman of the Palmerston ' North Hospital Board, was referred to at last night's meeting of . the Wellington Hospital Board, a motion of condolence being passed in the customary manner. Mr. F. Castle paid tributs to Mr. Hornblow's work and said he was a man'who had been actuated by the very highest ideals of justice and truth.
