ENGLISH TEAM'S VISIT

In: all.probability a team of English women hockey players will visit New Zealand in 1938.

At last night's meeting of the New. Zealand Women's Hockey Association Mrs. H. A. Poulter, the secretary, said that the cost of the tour would not exceed that of the Fijian team last year. It could be taken as definite that the team- would be of international standard. ■ . It was decided to inform the authorities in England that in all probability an invitation would be sent, and a definite decision would be reached within a month. Meanwhile the position is to be placed before the affiliated associations, with a view to finding how many are prepared to apply for matches against the visitors. . After considerable discussion It was decided that an examination board be appointed by the management committee to -control, subject to its jurisdiction, the examination and classification of umpires, and the interpretation of the rules of the game as provided for elsewhere in the rules and bylaws of the association. ■ ■ . , ' It was decided that the official blazer for New Zealand women's hockey umpires holding certificates at the association be a black blazer with white binding, and the official badge as issued by the N.Z.W.H.A. be used as a pocket. .
