SNAPPER IN HARBOUR
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—l noticed in one of your late issues the fact that a gentleman had caught a snapper -he had observed swimming close to the' shore. I may say that during my yachting experience in Wellington Harbour it was by no means an uncommon thing to find snapper swimming aimlessly about the water surface. The fish often become troubled with distension and are unable to reach the lower levels. This occurrence is also frequent in the Sounds and it is not solely snapper that are the victims; other fish also suffer.—l am, etc.,
W. BROOKE TAYLOR.
