The following statement regarding the proposed national memorial "to the late King Geprge'V waS1 fflMe' last night by the Mayor of Masterton, Mr. T Jordan,-'' who is president pf the Municipal Association of New Zealand: "In -accordance' with the resolution passed at the recent municipal -conference'at Tirharu it is expected'that the Mayors oi-every city and, borough in the Dominion will open'a fund in sup : port of the Prime Minister's appeal for a national memorial to' His late1 Majesty King George V, and it is desired that the goal should be reached by the date of the Coronation of his Majesty King George VI; on IVl'ay 12."
