"Gold Diggers of 1937," 85' per cent, of Hollywood's chorines have their minds set on marriage— eventually, if not' now. More' than three-fourths of them hope .to .have babies and raise families of from one to four children. Nearly half of them are willing to do their.own housework — "at least for a few years." Only sue would be willing to mow the family lawn, but 46 expect to do part of the family laundry. Twelve* otft of the 104 girls would rather become screen. stars than marry. Six intend to pursue their careers'against all..odds-— even matrimony. None of them expects to be the wife of a President of the United States or a ."favourite" of Eoyalty. Seven of them declare 'they would rather be famous 'than happy. The Gold Digger, .of 1937, would. lik« to' live in' an eight-room ;.- house.; or t A six-room apartment.
