LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

RELIGIOUS TRAINING

The Karori branch of the League,of Mothers met this week, when Mrs. Wood (president) in welcoming all members and friends, expressed much pleasure in seeing the hall so well filled and hoped that the year would be. a happy one.

The branch' had much pleasure in listening to Mrs. H. H. Cornish (provincial secretary), who stressed the necessity for religious training of children and- urged mothers also to direct and partake of their children's pleasure. Mrs. Wood then gave an account of a visit to the Maori Girls' Collegei-at Turakina. Members were much interested in the description of the college and in the way in which the girls were taught. Each girl had a day a week at the kitchen, dairy, laundry, etc., and when the course was completed were able to put their training into practice in their own homes. ,

Mrs. Lockett sang two solos which were much appreciated.

Votes of thanks were passed to the speakers and to Mrs. Lockett. Afternoon tea and a reunion chat among the members concluded a very happy meeting.
