THREE TIMES A DAY!

Native Home, an aged mare by Native King-Sonoma Harvester mare may be one of the hardy sort, but her trainer C. K. Veatman, asked big things of her at Cheviot on Saturday when she was harnessed up three times. In the first place she deadheated with Bill Grattan after a punishIng finish, in which both horses were fully extended all the way down the straight. Two hours later she contested the Mlna Handicap, of a mile, and she finished second in the very good time of 2min 15sec. This would generally be regarded as a fair day s work for any pacer, but in the following race, a mile and a half, Native Home was again a starter and,; while she was in the firing line in the straight, she naturally faded in a fastrun, race.
