MR. JORDEN HONOURED AT RAMSGATE

LONDON, March 18.

The freedom of his native town, Ramsgate, was conferred on Mr. "W. J. Jordan, New Zealand High Commissioner, who, in accordance with the honour, will enjoy a number of privileges, including the right to drive pigs through the streets at any hour, of the day or night. The Mayor, in the presence of aldermen and also the Hon. W. Nash, New Zealand Minister-of .Finance, and Mrs. Nash, presented the certificate of freedom, which was contained in a gold and silver casket bearing the coats of arms of New Zealand and Ramsgate. Mr. Jordan said he accepted the honour for New Zealand as well as for himself. The Deputy Mayor presented Mrs. Jordan with a silver replica of the Ramsgate lighthouse.
