DONATIONS TO AMBULANCE
When the Wellington waterside workers received their back pay on Thursday many took the opportunity to contribute generously to an appeal for funds for the Free Ambulance, which is frequently called in when accidents occur on the wharves. . The collection realised £112 12s 3d. Other donations acknowledged by the Free Ambulance are Pahautanui Benefit Committee, proceeds of benefit, £10 17s, Mrs. G. A. Lawrence, Johnsonvill'e, proceeds street day, Johnsonvillc. £7 9s 4d, Wellington Croquet Club, proceeds afternoon, £7 7s 6d, Mrs. P. Hendry and Mrs. J. H. Buckland, Paremp.ta, proceeds collection at Paremata, £7, Mrs. E. W. Wise Mayoress. Eastbourne, proceeds street day at Eastbourne, £6 10s lOd.
