GIRLS' COLLEGE
ANNUAL SPORTS
Kelburn Park was a hive of activity yesterday afternoon for the Welling-, ton Girls' College annual sports which were held in fine, but rather windy weather. Many parents and old girls wore present and enthusiastically joined in the barracking and applause. Afternoon tea was served in the open air by staff members and pupils, and an ice-cream stall which was managed by the Old Girls' Association was very popular with the young people. The long programme of varied events was conducted ably by Mrs. Taylor, sports mistress at the college. The last race, the old girls', proved very exciting, and the victor. Miss Helen Reay, was loudly cheered by the girls. Among those present were Miss Greig (principal of the college), Miss McLean (past principal).
