WELLINGTON MATCH
ENGLAND V. NEW ZEALAND
Whatever happens in the M.C.C. team's match at Christchurch, ther e is bound to be a sterling brand of cricket when the English side meets New Zealand's representatives in the match at the Basin Reserve next week. The match in Wellington will have all the elements of a Test, though not officially recognised as such, and the participants will be right on their mettle, the Englishmen keen to demonstrate as far as possible the standard of English first-class cricket and the New Zealanders every bit as keen to make the most of this valuable preliminary to the important engagements to be fulfilled in England this year. . The opportunity of welcoming ths M.C.C. team to Wellington's playing fields will in itself be an occasion of note, but there will also be the chance that comes very rarely of seeing a New Zealand team in action immediately before it proceeds overseas. The event is arousing tremendous interest, and, given fine weather, there will be big crowds at the Basin Reserve on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday of next week—the days set down for the match. . A slight alteration has been made in the hours of play. For each day they are 11.30 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1.45 p.m. to 3.45 p.m., and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The charge of admission to the Basin Reserve will be as usual, but, special arrangements having been made so far as accommodation in the enclosure is concerned, there will be additional charges for admission to that area ana for seats on the special open stands and in the pavilion. The prices are notified elsewhere in "The Post," and information is also given regarding the booking of seats, the plan now being open at Sports Headquarters in Grey Strec. Already many bookings have been made. >
