MR. ALEXANDER CAMERON
I As a result of being knocked over by a motor-cycle when crossing the Hutt Road, at Kaiwarra last, evening, Mr. Alexander Cameron died at a private hospital this morning. The late Mr. Cameron v{as the third son of the late Mr. Alexander Cameron, one of the earliest settlers in Kaiwarra, and for the greater part of his life resided in Kaiwarra. . , For some time he arid a brother, the late Mr. Hugh Cameron, were the owners of the Okara sheep station in the Tinui district, Wairarapa, and when that station was sold he returned to Kaiwarra, where he has since resided. In his younger days (he was 72 years old when he died) he was- a noted athlete and swimmer, and would swim from the old Kaiwarra jetty to the old Thorndon baths and back. To the day of his death he was a great walker, doing from 20 to 25 miles' walk each day. He was a highly respected resident of the district, of a kindly and gentle nature, and his passing will be regretted. The late Mr. Cameron was not married. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Captain Cameron, of Dunedin, and the Misses Jessie and Isabella Cameron, of Kaiwarra, and two brothers, Mr. D. D. Cameron, of Kaiwarra, and Mr. John Cameron, of. Wellington.
