LONDON, March 10.
The Leader of the Opposition Liberal Party in the House of Commons, Sir Archibald Sinclair, speaking at a Liberal dinner, said that the.Government's protectionist pplicy was responsible for disturbing the international situation.
"It is not a happy augury for the future that the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr. Neville Chamberlain, is likely to be Prime Minister," Sir Archibald declared. "He is blocking the path to peace through his obstinate adherence to a policy of economic Imperialism. The Empire could not stand another shock like Ottawa.
"One of the worst features of Imperial preference is the closing of the open door in the colonies, which is provocative to all Powers not possessing colonies, and especially Germany and Japan," Sir Archibald added. "We must abandon Ottawa if we desire to stop the drift towards war." ,
