It is estimated that close on. IOOQ people, in addition to school children, will participate in the Halcombe jubilee luncheon gathering which is ta be held on Friday next. This gathering will be fully representative of past pupils of the school and pioneer settlers and will be preceded by appropriate addresses. The township obtained its name from the agent of the Colonists' and Immigrants' Aid Corporation, Mr. Arthur William 3Tol« lett Halcombe,. who arrived ill' tha Rangitikei district in 1855.
