FORM AT A GLANCE

TOMORROW'S CARD

The following gives the acceptors for the.various races at Trentham tomorrow, with the approximate time at which each race is due to start.' The figures before the names denote the placings—com- . piled as carefully as possible—of each horse at its last three starts during the last three months, viz., 1 (first), 2 (second), 3 (third), 0 (unplaced). Less than three figures denotes that the horse has not been out three times in the period stated:—

not daunted the admirers of the southern colt. Haughty Winner is a muchimproved colt, a candidate now for the highest two-year-old honours. Lazybones, with his light weight, will have a chance in the juvenile handicaps. The prospect of a heavy track will not prejudice the prospects of this quartet. , Koyal Chief has flcome on since he raced at the Dunedin Meeting, but he will need to improve to beat Haughty Winner, who was definitely his master in the Dunedin Champagne Stakes. Cerne Abbas is very fit, and though she may not win the St. Leger, she will have her chance in the Hack Cup on the second day. After Trentham, she will go on to Auckland for the Oaks and St. Leger. Screamer has galloped well lately, but will need to improve on his previous race form to win. Argentic has gone for the Autumn Handicap on the second day. He is very forward, but he needs a hard track. m Tunneller, on the other hand?' will be hard to beat in that race if the course is soft. His mate, Knockfln, has been showing her best sprinting form in her work. Emissary is ready, to show his best in the sprints, and he should pay his way. Sunbeam will run in minor events, and looks a likely prospect. Rousseau has disappointed more than once, but he is a useful hack, and veiT well. Brigadore has done-plenty of good work, but may be all the better for a race, as he has not had much fast galloping. Concertpitch, with a mile engage-! ment on the second day, has never been better than he is just now.
