WELLINGTON AUTUMN MEETING
COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF TOMORROW'S FORM
(By "Rangatira.") Under favourable weather conditions, the Wellington Racing Club's Autumn Meeting, .opening at.Trentham tomorrow and concluding on Saturday, promises to be one of the most successful fixtures held on the course in recent. years. The fields for the first day, though not as large as usual, are well balanced in size and qualit)', and great interest is being taken in the result of such events as the St. Leg'cr Stakes and the Thompson and Railway Handicaps. The St. Leger clash between Wild Chase and Martara in particular is perhaps the most intriguing in the last decade, as these.two three-year-old stars have never previously met in their triumph-studded careers. ■ The autumn generally sees Trcntliam at its very best, and the early date of the meeting this year should make the two da3's' racing more enjoyable than ever, unless the club should have the bad luck to experience unseasonable weather. Form in the autumn, too, is more reliable than at any other portion.of the season, and there will be quite a number of runners tomorrow who will be aiming to extend recent sequences of wins. ' ■
