STEAMER ON FIRE

DESTROYERS TO THE RESCUE

The Admiralty states that an unknown steamer reports being fired on by an unknown warship in the Bay of Biscay and that four British destroyers are speeding to the rescue. A wireless operator at Cork picked up I three times an SOS message, the latest message stating "Fire aboard, sinking, come quickly."
