OBITUARY

MR. DAN LOVE

Mr. Dan Love, who died at one of his residences in Picton Sounds on Sunday at the age of 78 years, was a chief of the Te Atiawa, a sub-tribe of the Taranaki Maoris, and was well known throughout the Wellington and Marlborough Provinces. He is survived by his sons, Hapi, Makoare,' and Hakirau, and his daughters, Neri and Mataa.~ His eldest son, Wi Tako, who was one of the Maori representatives at King Edward's Coronation, predeceased him, as did also his eldest daughter, Nui. The funeral will take place at 3.15 p.m. tomorrow from the Maori meet-ing-house at Lower Hutt. Mr. Love will be interred alongside his wife, who is buried with her father, the late Wi Tako, first Maori member of Parliament.
