WAIRARAPA COLLEGE

(Special to the "Evening Post.")

MASTERTON, This Day.

The foundation stone of the Wairarapa College was "well and truly laid" yesterday afternoon by the Minister of Education (the Hon. P. Fraser) in the presence of a large and representative gathering of residents and of the teachers and pupils of the Wairarapa High School and the Masterton Technical High School.

Mr. L. J. Taylor, chairman of the Wairarapa Secondary Education Board, presided. The proceedings opened with a prayer by the Rev. John Daire, who also concluded the ceremony by pronouncing the Benediction. The speakers were, in addition to the Minister and the chairman, Messrs. T. Jordan (Mayor of Masterton), N. T. Lambourne (Director of Education), J. Robertson and Ben Roberts (members for Masterton and Wairarapa), and W. H. Jackson.
