STATE HOUSING

Sir,—The Minister of, Housing stated a few days ago that every time the Hutt builders pick up a hammer they hit their thumbs. What, nonsense. In reading the correspondence in the columns of your paper it would appear that the Minister would be doing i more to eliminate uneasiness by answering the questions asked by the builders. Surely these men know what they are writing about, and if he has nothing to hide why then the delay in answering these questions? Surely every taxpayer has a right to kno\«\ Perhaps the Minister is waiting till the separate tenders for the houses in Johnsonville elbse and then he will disclose the figures of these. As a correspondent stated the other day the cream has gone but the .skimmed milk is left. Now, Sir, perhaps the Minister will enlighten us as to the price of the cream, that is, the 300-odd houses just let! and not the skimmed milk at Johnsonville. —I am, etc., '"'."■':: GUARANTEED PRICES.
