A§HBURTON, February 28.

Speaking at a reception arranged by the local branch of■ the Labour Party on Saturday*'the Minister of Labour (the Hori.! H. T. Armstrong) said someone had complained to him that the Government was building houses the people could not afford. His reply was that, the; best only was good enough lor the people who had been living in hovels long enough.' If a man could not pay rent for a decent house on £4 a week, the Government would see that he received £6 so that he could pay it. (Loud applause.)
